Co q10 is a very popular supplement and though a bit more
expensive than other antioxidants, many praise it for
helping with important areas of concern including diabetes,
gingivitis and congestive heart issues.
Co q 10 is found in body tissues of the heart, liver, pancreas
and other organs. It is also something that decreases in our
body with age.
One exciting study has been testing coq10 with people
suffering from early Parkinson’s disease. There was a 40
percent slower progression of the disease for those on a
high dose of this supplement compared to those on the
placebo.
Many Japanese physicians recommend coq10 to patients for
their hearts. A UK study has found significant improvement
both in the thickness of the left ventricular wall of the
heart and mitral valve flow.
Researches have found that statins (medications that lower
cholesterol) lower the amount of coq10 in the body and this
has been discussed by experts as a concern.
Stephen Sinatra has written a book titled “Coenzyme q10 and
the heart” and a second book that is popular is by Martin
Zucker titled, “User’s Guide to Coenzyme Q10″.
